A few years ago, I was having trouble importing my car from the USA when we moved home from living in Florida. I tried many solutions, but couldn't get the title changed here in Ontario. I found US Auto Imports, and things got sorted out the same day! When I decided to replace our family SUV this year, I shopped around Niagara. Having lived half my life the USA, I also looked at cars south of the border... consistently, I was seeing prices 20% or better than any in Canada... While I could see from the Mercedes website the tremendous savings from buying a pre-owned vehicle in the United States, I also knew that I was never going to spend the time and effort to get the car to Canada and properly registered. I came across US Auto Import and Derek solely from their website. Once I bought the car from a US Mercedes dealership, Derek did the rest. He picked up the car, got it through customs, registered the car, arranged for Mercedes to make the necessary modifications to validate the remaining warranty in Canada and delivered the car to my house. I had spent a considerable amount of time on the internet researching other people's experience in importing a Mercedes Benz into Canada when I came across a reference to Dan at US Auto Import. Mercedes Benz Canada likes to make importing a vehicle from the US to Canada difficult and expensive to do. Dan provided some invaluable advice in regards to an alternate process of importing my vehicle that did not require me to use MB Canada's services and together with handling all the transportation from Florida, the border paperwork, working with Dan ended up saving me a lot of money and time. Dan is very personable, very thorough at what he does and communicates frequently. Comparing like for like and after all taxes, transportation, fees, etc. included I saved a little over $8,000 on the vehicle had I purchased it locally.

This is a story with a very happy ending. I found a car in the US that appeared to be everything I was looking for, and as a bonus, close enough that I could visit to see it in person. I contacted Dan at US Auto Import and he walked me through the necessary steps to import the car to Canada. Dan spent significant time with me and the dealer insuring that all steps were completed correctly. As it turns out, when we went to see the car, it was not at all as described and we decided not to complete the transaction. Dan and his staff were concerned and helpful and offered to assist again should another opportunity arise.

As fate would have it, we found another car, again one that we were able to visit and test drive. This turned out to be an excellent experience and exactly the car we were hoping for. Once again, enter Dan and his excellent team at US Auto Import. Dan orchestrated the import process and things proceeded without a hitch in a most timely and professional manner. In early May of this year I was vacationing in Florida and looked at the price of automobiles. Dan, as you know, this was the first time I was importing my 2009 Porsche 911 from the US but more importantly, it was my dream car since the age of 16. When I made the decision to purchase a vehicle in the US, I did so knowing that I wouldn't be able to import the vehicle without professional assistance. From the first time I contacted Dan at US Auto Import, I was impressed. In fact, even the salesperson from the Porsche dealership in Colorado commented on how knowledgeable he was.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dan at US Auto Import for their outstanding service and value. After finding and purchasing the "perfect" 1981 Ferrari 308 on eBay, I needed to get it to my home from the United States. I have imported a vehicle once before on my own and I know that it does require a lot all hassle and a lot of time. This particular effort would have entailed going to heavily snow bound NY State, transporting the car, with the appropriate lead time and being at the border to complete the transaction, followed by the Ontario Safety and licensing.

A detailed calculation of time and effort, not to mention time off work, showed Dan Bernard at US Auto Import could in fact do the job cheaper and with less hassle than I could. Dan looked after every detail. His experience and passion for cars anticipated any problems. I simply showed up at their shop at the appointed time to pick up my car.

The "unknowns" associated with importing a car from another country are considerable.   Is the car all it is said to be, how do you deal with  the numerous agencies required to  import the car, customs brokers, transportation, taxes, modifications  to meet Canadian standards etc etc.  It can almost be enough to put you off importing.  After finding a car on the internet , I had the choice of handling everything by myself or hiring an importer.  Fortunately after looking at several importers I went with Derek and his team and I am very  glad I did.   

Derek is one of those rare business persons who answers his phone, gets right back to you, responds to your emails almost immediately and most importantly acts in a thoroughly professional manner.  He exceeded my expectations.  His estimated invoice on day one matched the final one with the exception of a $400 saving he had been chasing , unbeknownst to me, through Jaguar Canada.  I guess not all of the unknowns are bad ones.

My car showed up at my front door , plated and as described.  I am more than happy with the car and the savings associated with purchasing an American car.

US Auto Import provided me with the easiest option to get a car from US. They follow up closely during the process and handled all the logistics on a timely basis. It's just about a week's time from the point I paid for my dream car (in Florida) to the arrival of it in front of my door in Toronto. I urge all Canadians to save money by flexing their purchasing muscle and consider purchasing their vehicles in the United States. By hiring US Auto Import, any apprehension, uncertainty or concern with the import process is completely eliminated. US Auto Import fees are reasonable and Dan was a consummate professional throughout my interaction with him. In this modern computer age where you have the world at your finger tips, it's sometimes disappointing when you have to deal with the real world! Dan and US Auto Import brought a high end car into Canada for me recently and I have nothing but praise for them!

This was also my first time importing a vehicle and I was a little unsure about it, however Dan was extremely professional, efficient and very pleasant to deal with. We imported a very expensive car from Florida and Dan took care of the whole process from start to finish without any issues. Any small hiccups that did arise Dan took care of with ease. I also appreciated that Dan kept me informed on every detail throughout the process. He is great at responding to emails and phone calls promptly.

When I visited the Canadian Toyota dealership I found out they no longer offered the Toyota Camry XLE with the more fuel efficient 2.4L. My only option was to purchase a low mileage car in the USA. I was in the market for a Honda S2000, but because of the exact colour combo that I desired, the car that I found was far away from the Canadian border. This made the purchase process so much more difficult, but everything worked out after I contacted Dan at US Auto Import.

I am a picky person and I compared a lot of different importers before I finally decided on US Auto Import. The reason was simple, none of the other importers responded like Dan did. Dan was always able to give quick responses to all my questions. He was like a friend when he explained to me all the precautions to take during my purchase.

The whole importing process was also quick and simple, Dan got it all taken care of, I didn't have to worry as Dan would give me constant update.

Je viens de me procurer une voiture usagée qui provient des Etats-Unis.  J'ai fais affaire avec Dan de US Auto Import et le service est extraordinaire.

Une fois que j'ai acheté la voiture je les ai contactés et ils m'ont assisté dans tout le processus.  Ils sont allé chercher la voiture (2 jours après l'achat) a Boston.  Ils l'ont amené a Ste Catherine Ontario et se sont assurés d'obtenir tous les documents relatifs aux douanes.  Ils ont payé la TPS, la douane et ce sont assurés que la voiture répondait aux normes canadiennes.  (ils ont fait installé les lumières de jour....)

Etant donné qu'ils ne sont pas au Québec ils m'on offert de faire livrer la voiture chez moi.  J'ai décidé d'aller la chercher moi même et ils m'attendaient à l'aéroport de Toronto.....QUEL SERVICE.  une fois au Québec (ils m'avaient fournis une licence temporaire) je n'ai eu qu'a faire inspecté le véhicule chez un mandataire de la SAAQ (35 minutes) puis je me suis dirigé au bureau des licences.  C'est à ce moment que tout le travail de Dan et son équipe a rapporté.  Tous les documents qu'ils m'ont demandé étaient dans une chemise......cela a pris 5 minute. J'ai acquitté la TVQ et ils m'ont remis les enregistrements.
